AN EXTRAORDINARY DANCER AWARD is presented to Vidwan Manjunath Gorkal from Karnataka state for his outstanding works and remarkable roles on Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi.
He performs ALAYA NRUTHYAM pertaining to Surpur of yadgiri. He played many roles perfectly in various dance forms and performed dances in prestigious festivals of the country and gained popularity. We are conveying our best wishes for his success or achievements. It has been recorded in the Magic Book of Record.
He is SBI BANK Employee, and a trained Bharatnatyam, kuchipudi, and ALAYA NRUTHYAM Dancer. He is a dance Teacher. Many of his students are from all over Karnataka.
He performs ALAYA NRUTHYAM pertaining to Surpur of yadgiri. He played many roles perfectly in various dance forms and performed dances in prestigious festivals of the country and gained popularity.
At a time when even teaching dance is commercialized, he teaches dance to children free of cost, a task that can be a source of inspiration for artists. He has started the 'Natya Shastra' dance institute at the Kanakadasa Home for Destitute Children on Yeramaras road here. In the orphanage which has a strength of nearly 120 students, Mr Manjunath started teaching the art of dancing to the students free of cost. He has taken up the 'work with Self-interest, setting a role model to those who have commercialized the art.
Mr Manjunath said that he was trained by Mr Sampath Kumar in Bharathanatyam. He learnt Kuchipudi from Venkateshwaralu. He says that he has Pondhanallur style in Bharathanatyam and Vempathi style in Kuchipudi. He feels proud in saying that he has performed at well-known South Indian places like Srisailam. Tirupathi and Mantralayam.He has also started SriBharathanatyam dance institute in Bijapur. He has a high ambition. He wants to startKarnataka Kalamandalam' in North Karnataka in line with 'Kerala Kalamandalam' and wants to popularise dance in Hyder-Engineering student Manjunath Gorkhalperforming dance. abad-Karnataka region. "Though I have ex-celled in dance events, I am not given an opportunity to contest at regional and state-level events. Scope for dance seems to be limited in this area", says Manjunath, hoping to do something good for the dance art. He is awarded by many organization.
