ABOUT: WOMAN POWER AWARD

The Woman Power Award is a prestigious national recognition instituted to honour exceptional women and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to the cause of women’s empowerment, social development, and nation-building.

This award celebrates the strength, determination, and achievements of women who have excelled in diverse fields, overcome challenges, and inspired others through their leadership, courage, and dedication.

The Woman Power Award symbolises the spirit of “Nari Shakti”, representing the collective energy and resilience of women contributing to the progress of the nation.

The objectives of the Woman Power Achievement Award are to:

  • Recognise and honour women achievers who have made a significant impact in their respective fields.
  • Encourage and inspire women across the country to realise their full potential and participate actively in social, economic, and cultural spheres.
  • Promote gender equality, women’s leadership, and inclusive development.
  • Acknowledge the role of organisations and institutions working towards the upliftment and welfare of women.

ELIGIBILITY

The Woman Power Award shall be conferred upon individual women and organisations that have demonstrated exemplary commitment and contributions to the empowerment and advancement of women in society.

INDIVIDUALS

  • This category includes women who have shown exceptional achievement, innovation, or leadership in any of the following areas:
  • Education and Literacy – Promoting education, especially among girls and women.
  • Health and Nutrition – Improving women’s health, hygiene, and well-being.
  • Social Work – Advocacy and action for women’s rights, equality, and safety.
  • Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment – Creating opportunities for women’s employment, skill development, and financial independence.
  • Science, Technology, and Innovation – Contributing to advancements that empower women and communities.
  • Art, Culture, and Sports – Demonstrating excellence and inspiring participation of women in creative and athletic fields.

ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS

This category recognises the contribution of organisations that have undertaken impactful initiatives for women’s welfare and empowerment, including:

  • Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Voluntary Groups working for women’s development and rights.
  • Educational and Skill Development Institutions promoting women’s education, training, and leadership.
  • Corporate and Social Enterprises implementing gender-sensitive policies and programs for women’s inclusion and empowerment.
