Hiran Chakraborty, a 15-year-old gifted dancer from Ashokenagar, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India, is a remarkable young artist whose journey is an inspiration to aspiring performers across the country. Through unwavering dedication and the therapeutic practice of Indian classical dance, he successfully overcame his squint eye condition using Alternative Medical Methods (Vaikalpik Chikitsa Paddhati) by practicing “Dristived”, showcasing the healing power of traditional Indian art.
Following his recovery, Hiran devoted himself to mastering various dance forms and quickly gained recognition for his outstanding talent. His exceptional performances have earned him numerous prestigious National and International honors, including the Honorary Doctorate Award, National Record Appreciation, National and World Record for the Youngest Honorary Doctorate Awardee in the field of Art and Dance, Best Classical Dancer Award, C.C.R.T. Junior National Scholarship from the Government of India, India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records, Indian World Record, World Book of Records, London, and the South Asian Regional Countries Brilliance Award, along with many other distinguished recognitions.
Beyond the stage, Hiran is deeply committed to serving society through the power of dance. He provides free dance training and therapeutic physical exercises to specially-abled children, helping improve their physical and mental well-being. He also supports orphaned children by offering free dance education and donating food and educational materials using the honorarium received from his performances.
Hiran regularly performs at old-age homes without any remuneration, bringing joy and emotional support to senior citizens through his art. He actively participates in charitable initiatives such as food distribution, clothing donation, and tree plantation drives. Through his dance performances, he also spreads awareness about environmental conservation, Indian culture, patriotism, and the national song “Vande Mataram.”
