DEFINITIONS
In this Scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,
- “Scheme” means the scheme for “AWARDS AND HONOUR SCHEME”
- “Committee” means the Selection Committee constituted under the Scheme.
- “Award” means the AWARDS or HONOUR.
- “Chairperson” means chairperson of the Selection Committee under the Scheme.
- “Governing Body” means the “PHHD Magic Book of Record Foundation”, authorised authority or persons.
PURPOSE OF AWARD OR HONOUR
- Inspire excellence and innovation: Awards celebrate excellence and recognise success or contribution in a specific domain.
- Highlight important contributions to society: They serve as motivation for others and establish standards of achievement.
- Serve as symbols of prestige and respect: They can be given for talent, hard work, creativity, bravery, leadership, or service.
- Encourage healthy competition: This can encourage others to walk on the same path for recognition.
TYPES OF AWARDS:
There are numerous types of award categories, some of which are as follows
- Academic Awards: Given for excellence in education – e.g., Best Student Award, National Science Award, Rhodes Scholarship.
- Professional or Career Awards: Recognise contributions in a profession – e.g., Pulitzer Prize (journalism), Nobel Prize (science, peace, literature).
- Arts and Entertainment Awards: Honour achievements in music, film, and art – e.g., Oscars (film), Grammys (music), Emmys (television).
- Sports Awards: Recognise athletic performance – e.g., Ballon d’Or (football), Olympic Medals, MVP Awards.
- Civil and National Honours: Given by governments or organisations for service to the nation – e.g., Medal of Honour (USA), Bharat Ratna (India), Order of the British Empire (UK).
WHO CAN NOMINATE? – ELIGIBILITY
Any individuals, proprietors, corporate entity, public or private, and non-governmental organisation (NGOs), which have played a visible role in any one or more than one of the following areas of promotion and development of society, nation, will be eligible to be considered for AWARDS or HONOUR:
(a) Identification and nurturing of budding/young talent, or
(b) Encouragement of art and nation through Social Responsibility, or
(c) Employment of talented persons and social welfare measures, or
(d) In the area of ‘Development’, only an entity that has been working for the promotion and development of art and society for at least the last three years would be eligible to apply.
RECEIPT AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE APPLICATIONS
After a successful application, a unique registration number will be generated. The candidate can use that number for future communications/ coordination.
SCRUTINY OF APPLICATIONS
All applications received from the applicant will be scrutinised by the Committee, if required for verification of statements/claims made by the applicant, on the basis of its own records or from other sources.
PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION/ SELECTION CRITERIA:
The initiative will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- The Selection Committee will finalise the nomination of applicants.
- After being cleared by the selection committee, you can complete the registration process and proceed to receive the award.
- The Committee will evaluate nominations/applications based on the statements/claims during a minimum of one year, a maximum of years.
- The Chairman will have the special power to nominate any applicant for awards or honours if he or she finds the applicant’s profile appealing.
- All nominations/ recommendations received for the Awards are placed before the Awards Committee, which is constituted by the Chairman. No Award is conferred except on the recommendation of the Awards Committee. The recommendations of the Committee are submitted to the Chairman for approval.
GENERAL
- The award will mainly consist of a citation, a trophy, and a few other honour articles (as per the awards category). There will be no cash award.
- The Award will be presented to the selected applicant at the function for the presentation of the Award to be held at a place and on a date to be determined by the Governing body.
- At the time of the ceremony, the award will be conferred only on that awardee who is present. The award can be received by the Head/CEO of the entity or any other person authorised by the Head/CEO.
- The awardees who are not able to attend the ceremony to receive the award can later receive the same from the Member of the Governing body/ Manager/ CRM.
- The Governing body may cancel, annul the Award to any recipient for specific reasons, and thereupon the recipient shall be required to surrender the citation and trophy, but it shall be competent for the Chairman of the Magic Book of Record to restore the Award once the cancellation and annulment have been withdrawn.
- The decision of the Chairman of the Governing body in respect of matters covered by the scheme and of the interpretation of the provisions of the scheme shall be final and no appeal shall lie against them.
- An entity nominated for the Award shall be deemed to have accepted the provisions of the scheme.
- Canvassing in any form in respect of an entity will render that entity liable to disqualification.
- The “Magic Book of Record” Governing Body reserves the right to nominate anyone, in deserving cases, where their applications have not been received.
