Dr. Prasanta Kumar Borah is awarded "HONORARY DOCTORATE AWARD" by Magic Book of Records on August 30, 2021, in the field of Directing, Acting & Bayan.
Prasanta Kumar Borah spent his childhood at Borgang as his father was working in The Assam Co- operative Apex Bank at Borgang. They shifted to Tezpur in the year 1972. They constructed our small home at Mazgaon Saikia Chuburi and since then they have been residing here.
Tezpur gave him a platform to connect herself to the cultural world. Eternal Romance City TEZPUR already known as a CULTURAL CITY where there are so many historical stories related to King Baan and lord Krishna.
Prasanta Kumar Borah met many great personalities who were culturally very rich and helped him in shaping himself and gave him a new identity. Prasanta Kumar was very passionate towards acting. He achieved new heights and polished himself in his performances and was also awarded the best child actor in one act play in the year 1975.
He parallel continued his studies and completed his graduation from Darrang College in science stream in the year 1990. But again He fascinated towards Arts so again he appeared for B.A in the year 1994. He passed with flying colours.
During his college days, he has participated in many platforms and received many award and recognisation. He started directing plays and short films. He also receive the honor to do acting under the direction of Klapana Lazmi and the great legend Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The play name was “The Awakening”.
He has the privileged to work with Deben Sarmah, Tulsi Das, Pushpa Saikia, Bhola Kalita, Arun Nath, Uday Sankar Saikia, Bayan Nityananda Mahanta, Satradhikar Rameswar Mahanta, Satradhikar Punnyabrata Deva Goswami, Satradhikar Joggyeswar Mahanta . These noble people can never be forgotten and their contribution towards cultural awareness is highly appreciated. Acting has always been him first priority. There was certain time in his life when he was in a position to choose between his passion and his job. And He always chooses acting over job. There was a many time when he was jobless and was struggling to feed his family. But He never let go my passion. But his star clicked and He was offered acting in Mobile Theater. He worked continued for 3 years. But as his family started growing and his responsibilities increased and He had to return to his family and left the mobile theater. He started a small grocery shop and also purchased a public carrier bus. But He was not successful and was under total loss. As my business was not successful so He thought of joining a private firm and pay his debt. He has started working under Mr. Sunil Saraf in the year 2001 and since then He has been looking after his business.
Along with drama, He was also highly interested towards BHOWNA (Assamese traditional mythology play). “Bhowna “was introduced by Srimanta Sankardeva. It is a traditional entertainment, with religious message. It was written in early 16th century. The playes of bhowna are popularly known as ANKIA NAT.
In 1997-98, He learned the” KHOL” is also a instrument of Assamese community. The Khol is used in “BORGEET” and “BHOWNA”. It is made from finest quality wood. The one who expert is playing the kohl is awarded the prestigious degree known as “BAYAN”. And He is lucky to have been awarded the title of ‘Bayan’. It is a feather to his cap. He has been teaching Khul too many students in NAMGHAR. Since the year 1984, He had been actively participating in many Bhownas along with my acting careers. He also direct Bhownas and participated in many competitions.
He has been a social worker. He has always loved helping people. Presently He is serving as the VILLAGE HEADMEN ( Gaonburah). He has the desire to acquire more knowledge in social work and so He decided to pursue a degree in MSO and this is the last year to deserve his Master degree.
He has opened a YouTube channel known as News Track Assam. And his motto behind opening this channel is to provide platform to people who has keen desire towards acting. He is trying to provide them a platform to showcase their talents. Till now they have done three (3) short low budget Assamese films “SORRY”, “AVATAR”, “DEUTA”.
Because He has been a resourceful person in contributing to the society and has been uplifting the Assamese Culture through various platforms. Under his guidance He has been able to create many talents. So Government of Assam has felicitated to me a sum of rupees 50,000.00 and awarded to him a title “SANSKRITIK YODHA” as an honor.

Boragang has many historical back ground and many stories of Sankardeva at Bahbari. The famous Gangmouthan was a resting place of Srimanta Sankardeva.
