ABOUT:
Born into a family of artists, Madhu’s mother Tara Sharma, is a well known dancer from Rajasthan. From a very young age she started to learn from her mother and perform Rajasthani folk dance. She loved to sing as well and started to learn classical and semi classical music at Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra New Delhi. She developed a passion for painting early on and went to learn from Delhi college of Art where she graduated with an MFA in painting. She attended some painting workshops in Paris and many exhibitions that showcased Indian art. She’s also received many awards such as “Art appreciation” from National Museum, an appreciation award received from the Delhi College of Art, Rajiv Gandhi Award Delhi. BabuJagjivan Ram Award and the Award for Design delivered by Health Ministry Delhi.Madhu’s experience also allowed her to work for the Film Division of India. She has done Background Painting for the National Award Winning Documentary titled “Vedic Mathematics".
At the same time, Madhu started growing very passionate to organize shows and soon started to work as an Artist coordinator. She began working with Bollywood celebrities and international artists as well as Indian classical and folkloric artists. She has been organizing shows all over the world for the past two decades and is one of the most well known organizer in India as well as around the globe.
Her organization, Kala Varnam, initiated a culture exchange between India and Mexico, hence solidifying International ties. A cultural exchange with Nepal also saw the day.Recently, she created an organisation in order to help struggling artists who were, like the rest of the world, hit hard by COVID. She actively came up with solutions and made sure to put a united front by providing food for those in serious need, those unable to make a living.
